League Registration Fee:
The registration fee has been reduced to $60.00 (hst included) compared to $135 in the previous years. It will include league administration costs, the 3rd Annual Summer Throwdown dinner and the year-end tournament lunch and dinner. Prizes are not funded by this fee this season. See below for details.
For several years, the industrial league has relied heavily on sponsors to contribute substantial prizing for the year-end tournament, in addition to the large registration fee we ask of members to join the league. 2018 will prove to be a difficult year, financially, for a lot of small businesses and community families. The Perth Golf Course, being a business greatly affected by the minimum wage hike, does not want to contribute to the financial strain of others. We want to keep the league fun and affordable for everyone. Instead of increasing the overall amount to play in this league (golf+cart+registration) we have opted to decrease it, however, this reduction comes at the expense of prizes. We all love the excitement surrounding the year-end tournament and the grand prizes, but it comes at a cost to everyone.
This season, we will be asking our generous sponsors to contribute $300 towards the league, compared to $500 in previous years (and in a lot of cases they contributed much more). From this sponsorship, we will allocate a value of $200 for one or more prizes to be awarded on the night of sponsorship. You must be in attendance in the dining room AND be a paid-league-member to win. The remaining $100 will be allocated to the year-end tournament.
If you would like to become a sponsor, please contact Stacie at Stacie@perthgolf.com. Each sponsor will receive a 9-hole foursome package, with power cart and get a shout-out online. Sponsor night dates will be chosen on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Chase-the-Ace – As you are all aware, our chase-the-ace attempts have been shut down by the Ontario Liquor and Gaming Commission. We are attempting, yet again, to bring the highly anticipated game back to the PGC Industrial League, but there is a lot of red tape. It is our hope that our lottery license request will be approved, at which time we will provide further information regarding the game, the rules, and the supporting charity.
Skins – This season, we’d like to try something new. Interested teams will buy-in each night for a variety of weekly skill competitions. Details to follow.
Trophy – The Industrial League trophy (awarded to Team Tiagra Woods in 2017) is up for grabs! The year-end tournament will determine the new trophy winners!
